Halloween Mad Hatter Tea | Styled 30th Birthday Party

It was a Halloween Mad Hatter Birthday Tea Party for the lovely birthday girl, Mrs. Sarah...aka The Red Queen - we will get to that later! This event is one of our favorites to date, since we got to mix our style with a bit of a Halloween spooky twist. The night was held at the gorgeous Grandale Manor, which made for the perfect tea party setting.
We had the honor of attending the tea party, and we were asked to host a murder mystery game during the tea.  We of course loved that idea, and came up with an Alice in Wonderland themed murder mystery game for all of the guests to play throughout the night. Luckily for us, Sarah's tea party guests were the BEST, and all of them got right into their character! Each guest was given an envelope with their character description upon arriving to the event, and throughout the course of the evening we would give clues leading to the guessing of the murderer, who ended up being Tweedle Dee and Tweedle Dum. Sarah is so thoughtful and brought a fun prize from Shineworthy Tea for the winner of the murder mystery, and who doesn't love a fun gift surprise?!
Sarah is the owner of Homestyle Bakery in Antioch, TN, and a true creative genius when it comes to all things sweet! She took our design idea for the cake and created an adorable masterpiece.  Whether she liked to admit it or not, she's also a pretty creative hat maker. Sarah asked that each guest wear their best tea party hat. For Sarah, buying a hat wasn't good enough, so she created her own, and it ended up being our favorite!
The night was perfect, spent sipping tea and munching on the sweets, courtesy of Homestyle Bakery, which we had way too many of. Thank you Sarah, for including us in your birthday celebration! We had such a blast celebrating you and being Alice characters for a night of tea party fun! Happy 30th!

Ashley + Matt | Styled Cocktail Hour

Nothing says vintage southern like a barn cocktail hour. We designed the cocktail hour in one of Drakewood Farm's beautiful barns, creating an atmosphere that quickly became the post ceremony party! Ashley and Matt made such a beautiful couple on their gorgeous wedding day. Congrats to a lifetime of happiness! #mashley2014

Cowboys + Indians | Styled Photo Shoot

Brotherly love at it's finest...

Working with little kids is always fun for us, but these two little brothers were just so stinkin' cute. They couldn't decide which one wanted to be the Cowboy or the Indian, so they both took a go at each.  It was so fun watching them use their huge imaginations, while Jessie Holloway captured every cute expression.

Family Sessions | Styled Mini Shoot

Tickle, cuddle, smile....whatever it takes for the perfect family photo!

This was a first for us on styling family sessions, and we have to admit that it was just the cutest thing! Seeing the parents and kids interact with each other to get the most adorable candids was such a fun thing to witness. We kept it simple for this scene with placing our vintage sofa among the trees and shady forest.

Once Upon a Tea | Styled Mini Shoot

We truly enjoyed channeling our inner little girl to come up with the set for this scene which was full of whimsy and pretty details!  The wooded surroundings inspired us to make the moss lampshades and book page butterflies to add in some DIY elements. The iron bed frame that we covered in ivy was our main focal point to create this woodsy tea party. We had the best time watching the little girls get so excited about their tea time!
